Prepared for MEDMEB
Executive Summary
Bangladesh can position itself as South Asia’s affordable innovation-and-manufacturing hub for medical equipment and devices. This masterplan maps high-potential zones, aligns product specializations to local capabilities, establishes export corridors, and sets a partnership, compliance, and investment roadmap for 2025–2030.
Strategic Thesis:
• Build a distributed network of cleanroom-enabled clusters near Dhaka–Gazipur–Narayanganj for disposables and hospital hardware; anchor digital and IVD assembly in Hi-Tech Parks; and leverage Chattogram and EPZs for export-scale production.
• Fast-track ISO 13485/GMP capacity, DGDA approvals, and selective CE/FDA pathways tied to anchor buyers in SAARC, ASEAN, the Middle East, and niche EU/US channels.
• Co-develop university–hospital–industry testbeds to accelerate prototyping, clinical validation, and workforce upskilling.
